I didn’t know what to expect, when I picked up Alayna Williams’s book, Rogue Oracle. It is the type of book you don’t want to put down, but follow the next scene and then another. This isn’t a strict romance novel, but the romance undertones and affection for the two protagonists, Tara Sheridan and Harry Li are so strong, you know how much they care for each other.
There are a couple of scenes, where the Rogue Oracle, the bad guy in this book, does his thing (no, I’m not going to tell you here. You’re going to have to buy a copy.) and it’s so visual and frightening. Alayna got my attention.
Rogue Oracle has elements of the cold war between the west (United States) and Russia, the Chernobyl incident and, of course, paranormal settings. In light of the recent earthquake in Japan and the problems with their nuclear reactors, Rogue Oracle suddenly becomes pertinent.
